Bio

(Afrikaanse teks is net hieronder)

I market people and books.

With my cameras and my word processors I work for LAPA Publishers and the ATKV.

I have an honours in creative writing and did a Master’s dissertation on André Brink’s On the contrary. At the age of fifteen, I began working as a journalist, using my camera and word skills to earn pocket money, so I am learning from the University of Life as well.

Even during the “Bronze Age of the Internet” (according to Etienne van Heerden) I was involved with on-line publications and I still contribute to LitNet.

In my spare time I write and read as much as I can. I am an avid barefoot runner who participate in the colours of Celtic Harriers.

I am an ambassador for the Durbanville Children’s Home.

At present I am on the management of PEN Afrikaans and I serve on the board of the Langenhoven Memorial Trust.

My family is important. Whenever we can, we leave the city behind to find solace in nature.

In my vrye tyd skryf ek en lees so veel as wat ek kan.

My gesin is belangrik.
